RN/Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator

Clinical Coordinator Nursing - Behavior Health
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Demonstrates clinical competency to practice on the Behavioral Health Unit
2. Manage day to day operations of assigned program, ensuring decisions, actions, and group performance contributes to the achievement of the unit, department and hospital's goals and mission.
3. Communicates effectively with staff, peers, senior leader, internal and external customers.
4 Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/departmental process.
5 Ensures staff orientation and competencies in units of practice.
6 Pursues own professional growth and development.
7 Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.
8 Provides opportunity for employee development.
9 Assumes accountability for decisions and actions.
10 Promotes unit budgetary and management principles.
11 Contributes to the smooth operation of the Inpatient/outpatient behavioral health and on call team.
12 Ensures staff practice within the policies and procedures of the units in which they work.
13 Serves as the coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well coordinated patient care is provided.
14 Ensures Family Centered Care is provided in the department.
15 Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
16 Assumes 24/7 accountability for the units in absence of Sr. Leader.
17 Provides direct nursing care, as needed, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
18 Completes all elements of Utilization Review for all behavioral health patients
19 Completes Wellness Checks on all eligible behavioral health patients
20 Exhibits nursing characteristics of the Synergy Model as outlined in the Nursing Strategic Plan: Clinical Judgment/Advocacy/moral agency, Caring Practices, Collaboration, Systems thinking, Response to diversity, Clinical inquiry/innovator/evaluator, Facilitator of learning of patient/family educator
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Will have knowledge of service areas for which accountable.
Must have customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION:
Required - Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN required.
Preferred - Masters degree in nursing, or in a master's program.
LICENSURE:
Required - Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia.
Required - Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
Preferred - Current certification in specialty field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required - Three years adult behavioral health experience, One year utilization review experience.
Required - Two years experience as an RN in a charge nurse role.
Preferred- Previous management experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
