RN/Registered Nurse - Manager - Surgical Services - Up to 4k Sign on Bonus


  1. Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within Departmental Scope of Care.

  2. Manages day to day operations of assigned nursing unit ensuring decisions, actions and group performance contributes to achievement of the unit, department, and hospital's goals and mission.

  3. Communicates effectively with staff, peers, Clinical Coordinator, external and internal customers.

  4. Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/departmental process.

  5. Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.

  6. Coordinates the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) of responsibility and recommends sufficient number of qualified competent persons to provide care. Participates in outside source selection for needed services.

  7. Integrates department services with the hospital's primary function maintaining communication with medical and nursing staffs, Administration, patients, and their families/significant others.

  8. Coordinates and integrates services within department.

  9. Promotes the Quality Management program of the facility, maintaining appropriate quality control programs (where applicable) as well as provides recommendations for operational, clinical and financial improvements.

  10. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and reports necessary noncompliance to Surgical Services Director in real time.

  11. Assures that orientation, in-service training, and continuing education are provided for persons in the department.

  12. Develops and participates in goals and objectives for assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  13. Ensures operational processes are efficient in meeting benchmark metrics

  14. Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with the entire medical staff.

  15. Assumes accountability for decisions and actions.

  16. Pursues own professional growth and development.

EXPERIENCE Required: Five (5) years current surgical nursing experience; two (2) years of management experience in surgical nursing required.
EDUCATION Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and BSN or related health degree.
Required: Licensed in the state of Virginia as a registered nurse. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR Certification in BLS upon hire, and ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire or start date in position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
