Ashland, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join our Ashland Specialty Ingredients business at our Hopewell, VA site. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Description
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure ongoing integrity and reliability of fixed assets throughout the plant.
Act as primary liaison to corporate Asset Integrity & Reliability experts.
Perform inspections and provide leadership to the inspection and testing personnel to maintain pressure vessels, storage tanks, and other process equipment, piping, hoses and relief valves.
Provide Technical knowledge of API and ASME code requirements and support site EH&S requirements.
Verify and maintain written policies and procedures for all mechanical integrity programs to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including management of change programs.
Provide mechanical knowledge to support maintenance efforts which ensure equipment reliability, reduced maintenance costs, and reduce unplanned downtime.
Monitor PM programs, develop new PMs, ensure compliance
Provide training and guidance to site maintenance personnel and inspectors.
Provide scope, project management, and leadership to upgrade projects such as equipment replacement, coatings programs as needed to ensure equipment availability.
Provide an effective partnering communication link between maintenance, production, site leadership, and corporate engineering on all programs.
This job is based on a ladder structure and the job level (salary) will be determined by the quantity and quality of your experience.
Qualifications
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
1+ years experience in a chemical process plant environment
Minimum of (1) year in Mechanical Integrity and Equipment Reliability
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
Relevant engineering, API inspection and NDT certifications strongly desired
Practical knowledge of relevant industry codes, such as API and ASME , and the application of Non Destructive Testing methodologies
Practical knowledge of fixed equipment fabrication, operation & maintenance, repair and alteration
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills and function as a team player and program leader
Ability to effectively solve problems and manage multiple priorities and programs
Experience with materials selection and damage mechanisms strongly desired

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
