Manager, HPE - 1 Plant

Leads team in the manufacture of a variety of speciality chemicals and/or intermediate products in a production plant covered by OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) regulation. Ensures optimum production levels of quality product as required by the customer in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and all federal, state and local regulations. Maintains a well-trained work force and maintains the plant and equipment in good, safe working condition. Position requires effective communication and coordination with Site Manager, other on-site Plant Managers, site support functions such as EHSQ,  Engineering & Maintenance, Production Planning and Logistics as well as external departments such as Procurement, Sales & Marketing and Controlling.   RESPONSIBILITIES   Ensures all operations under supervision are carried out in a manner that results in a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors and the community. Complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. Manages plant to ISO 9001, 14001 and EFfCI standards. Verifies appropriate production capacity is available and communicates concerns/constraints appropriately. Develops strategies for capacity improvements if needed. Approves new and revised product specifications, and develops manufacturing plans for new products in collaboration with Global Technology Platform, PTIS/PDSU, QC, and BL Technical Service Departments.  Manages new product introductions, recipe changes, BOM changes, MOCs and TVPs.    Ensures manufacturing process optimization by enforcing existing production protocols and, where appropriate, makes revisions. Investigates customer complaints. Determines root causes and develops corrective action for all product quality defects. Implements cycle count processes to ensure adequate control of inventory. Verifies accuracy and integrity of OEE data and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.    Coordinates all planned and emergency maintenance work with the Maintenance Superintendent.    Leads selection, hires, trains and retains a competent, capable and engaged workforce. Enforces work rules and site policies and oversees performance management process for employees. Fosters a positive work environment characterized by an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, accountability and open communication. Manages new employee orientation and training.   Holds the role of the Project Responsible in major capital projects within area of responsibility.     Provides integration and coordination between plant operations and overall site operations. Participates in selective regional and/or global alignment of operations.    Supports Segment and Corporate Goals and Initiatives.   Responds to all emergency situations as needed for the plant as well the site.   (a) List three to five decisions made or duties performed without input from Supervisor: Process and personnel scheduling to meet production requirements. Inventory control Modifications to process instructions, MOC requests and implement changes after approval. Purchase approval within approved budgetary constraints. Maintain daily compliance in all aspects of operation. (b) List three to five decisions on which consultation or approval is sought from Supervisor: Capital budget request approvals. Employee discipline involving verbal and written warnings, suspensions and terminations. Staffing additions. Accepts responsibility for his or her own safety and health.  Performs assigned duties in a manner that is safe and protective of the environment and ensures the quality of our products.  Follows operating procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally protective workplace.  Observes and reports all incidents, quality issues and unsafe conditions.  Takes a leadership position to drive continuous improvement in safety, environmental protection and product quality.               REQUIREMENTS   BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering 5-10 Years experience as a Plant Manager responsible for the manufacturing of products in a complex chemical processing environment or an experience of 10 years in a similar environment. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
